The whole week just zoomed by. Geez.

Saturday was well spent at home, helping the mother in the kitchen. Helping is not really the correct adjective to use because my skill in that particular place in the house is inexistent. Then the cousins came over for a play date, which was never a bore. They stayed till late and Saturday ended with a car ride from Choa Chu Kang to Boon Lay and back.

Sunday morning, I was having difficulties waking up despite the fact that I was scheduled at 10. The mother, the brother and the cousins had made plans to go swimming the night before and all was jolly set to go, leaving me to face weekend crowd at work. They left without me. Sadism to the max. BY the time I got back, all I heard was wonderful stories about the wave pool, lazy pool, Sarah’s head submerged under water and yadah yadah yadah. Not only that, there were lots of tidbits brought back from their adventure. Read after me, J-E-A-L-O-U-S.

Mum made up for leaving me out with a family dinner at Bali Thai. The mother, father, brother, his girlfriend, the aunty, uncle, cousins and even the grandmother were there. I felt perked up just being with the people who loves you as much as you love them, but the tom yam played a major role in the perking up process.

Speaking of family, this is a lesson that I’ve learnt from watching ‘Four Christmases’.
“You can’t spell families without lies”.

The way I see it, families will be incomplete without lies. Or lies are always incorporated within a family. Pelik tapi benar,I suppose.

“The person you fight with the most is the one who’s exactly like you”.

Erk? Really?

Family, they’re great. It’s even better when there are kids in them. When the mother asked the ten year old a question, she never answers with an answer. It’s a case of tanye satu, jawab sepuluh. Yeap, this happens in my family.

Mum: “Nizam dah bangun ke belom?”
Shikin: “Belom. Dia masih tido. Coma tak ajaknye.”

I agree totally, kids say the darnedest things!

How I wish everyday could be as rewarding.

Mental note : I cannot wait for the long weekends. School resuming in 14.
