♥ Sunday, June 1, 2008

Just in case you thought that you will die from boredom, here are some fantabulous ideas that will keep you alive and kicking during the June break. These ideas are from my favourite magazine, Seventeen!!! So, school's out-time to celebrate your month of fun and freedom :)

1. Hit the Beach: Pack your towel, sunblock and sunnies, and head to your fave spot on the sand for a bit of R+R or sporty action! Don't forget bottled water and moisturising face mist for all-day hydration.

2.Have a DVD marathon:Gathergirls for a mammoth movie marathon. Borrow several DVDs, ready the popcorn and pizza and get comfortable! Later play movie critic and discuss the films you watched.

3. Hone a skill: Love baking, cooking, fixing or making things? You have the whole month to fine-tune your talent and focus on what you're good at. As the saying goes-practice makes perfect!

4. Start a DIY project: Whether it's re-decorating your room or making your storage area user-friendly, ther's no better time to put your DIY skills to the test. Think wallpaper, paint, shelving units, storage boxes and second hand furniture.

5. Visit the museum: There's so much to learn by observing artworks and cultural artefacts. You may discover what makes them so special and precious.

6. Organise your closet: Donate or throw out stuffs you no longer want, put aside items that require mending or cleaning, and hang the rest up according to colour or style. Psst, you'll probably find you have more to wear after, really.

7. Indulge in home spa: Give yourself a facial, paint your nails, and scrub and moisturise your body. You'll feel like a million bucks once you're done-and probably look like it too!

8. Organise ahigh tea buffet: Hotel ones cost too much. Have your own, pot-luck style, with a few friends bringing home-made goodies. Then tuck in over lastest gossips.

9. Catch up on your reading: Lose yourself in all books and magazines you've been meaning to read but haven't had time to. Curl up on the couch or park yourself at your favourite cafe and get stuck into it.

10. Start a gaming challenge: Are you and your pals X-Box fanatics? Why not organise a team challenge? The losing groups will have to treat the winners to lunch.

11. Schedule a sports camp: Get active and have fun doing it. gather several classmates who are into tennis, badminton or volleyball and start your own tournament.

12. Take a quick gateway: Head to St John's Island with a few frinds for a picnic.

13. Show off your green thumb: Turn your balcony or backyard into an oasis with colourful flowerbeds, exotic plants and friuts shrubs. You'll have something beautiful to nurture for years to come.

14. Volunteer: Cold-call various shelters and charities and ask to help. They'll appreciate your offer to lend a hand and you'll feel good about it. You may also learn from the experience.

15. Shop till you drop: With the Great Singapore Sale in full swing, you'll have heaps of fun fishing for new clothes, beauty supplies, CDs, stationery and accesories. make alist of what you need(so you don'y overspent) and get moving!!

16. Learn something new: Have you always wanted to learn to dance or play an instrument? Check out classifieds for schools and classes.

17. Make some money: Can't fit regular part-time work into your busy schedule? Turn your hobby into a money-making venture. Some ideas- handmade greeting cards, phone charms, stuffed-sock dolls and jewellery.

I swear by No. 2, 6, 7, 9, 15 :)
